Boston, MA – July 8, 2024 – NWN Carousel, a leading provider of AI-powered technology solutions, in partnership with the Peter Frates Family Foundation, today announced it will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS, the global social media fundraising phenomenon, with a major VIP event at Fenway Park on August 1, 2024 at 10 am.
The event will take place on the hallowed field at Fenway, the site where ALS patient & Ice Bucket Challenge Hero Pete Frates performed his iconic Ice Bucket Challenge in August 2014. Frates led a worldwide fundraising campaign that raised more than $220 million to fund research for finding a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The Ice Bucket Challenge sparked a global movement, inspiring millions to take action and support research into this devastating disease.
The August 2024 event will feature members of the Frates family, celebrity guest speakers, ALS researchers and dignitaries, and will culminate in a massive Ice Bucket Challenge on the field at Fenway.
“We thank NWN Carousel and the Red Sox organization and all those who will be joining us in a celebration of Pete’s legacy,” said Nancy Frates, ALS advocate and mother of Pete Frates. “It’s a great opportunity to look back at what’s been accomplished over the last decade and look forward to the hard work ahead for all of us who are committed to finally ridding the world of this devastating disease that has impacted our family and millions of others around the world.”
“We are deeply grateful for the tireless efforts of the Pete Frates Family Foundation, which continues to passionately drive awareness and fundraising efforts to accelerate ALS research,” said Jim Sullivan, President & CEO of NWN Carousel. “As we celebrate the progress made, we acknowledge that there is still much work to be done. We honor the perseverance and resilience of patients, caregivers, researchers, and families affected by ALS. We recognize the dedicated efforts of medical professionals, scientists, and advocates who have contributed to our understanding of the disease and the pursuit of a cure.”
