Exeter, Rhode Island, March 12, 2012 — NWN Carousel, a leader in cloud-based data center networking and converged communications, announced that it has hired industry sales veteran and former AVI/SPL executive Christopher Smeaton as sales director to lead its new regional office located in Dallas, Texas. The new office location will serve to strengthen and expand Carousel’s existing client base in Texas, while complementing the company’s overall geographic presence in the United States.
“Christopher is a seasoned executive with a track record in driving and managing growth,” said James Marsh senior vice president, NWN Carousel. “He will be responsible for building our sales and technical teams in Dallas to support new opportunities, while supporting existing clients and managing operational activities in the central region.”
Prior to joining Carousel, Smeaton was director of sales for the A/V integrator AVI/SPL, where he was responsible for leading high-end sales initiatives and managing day-to-day account activities. As a seasoned executive with proven expertise in building C-level relationships, he will play a fundamental role in growing Carousel’s presence in the Texas region while strengthening its foothold in the central United States.
By opening an office in Texas, a region that has been a U.S. growth market despite an uncertain economic climate, Carousel establishes a geographic hub in the central United States that will help facilitate the expansion of its nationwide sales and technical force. Under the direction of Smeaton, Carousel will develop its existing Texas client base while pursuing other opportunities in state and local government, education, healthcare and other areas.
