Carousel Grows Competency in Building Strong VMware Virtualization Business for Customers’ Data Center Architectures

Exeter, RI, August 25, 2011 — NWN Carousel, a leader in data center networking and converged communications, today announced that NWN Carousel has achieved Enterprise Status in the VMware Solution Provider Program.

Since Carousel began offering VMware products as part of its data center practice just over a year ago, it has rapidly attained skilled resources to meet and exceed the criteria for Enterprise Status — which requires VMware partners to have on staff two VMware Sales Professionals (VSPs), two VMware Technical Sales Professionals (VTSPs) and two VMware Certified Professionals (VCPs). As part of its data center practice, Carousel maintains more than 10 certified engineers and more than 20 certified sales professionals on staff to serve its customers’ data center solutions needs.

“We are pleased to have achieved Enterprise Status in VMware’s solution provider program,” said Philip Magnuszewski, director, data center technologies of NWN Carousel. “Our data center practice has earned a reputation of providing holistic, innovative data center solutions to a wide range of companies spanning virtually every vertical market. VMware has become an integral part of our data center and virtualization offering, and this distinction provides our customers with even greater assurance in our capabilities.”

To achieve VMware Solution Provider Enterprise Status, VMware partners must demonstrate expert knowledge in infrastructure and virtualization, as well as meet minimum staffing requirements in both sales and technical VMware certifications. Since adding VMware to its portfolio just over one year ago, NWN Carousel has been able to achieve each certification leading up to Enterprise Status in a very short period of time.

Carousel is able to help both enterprise and mid-market companies do more with less by providing a range of data center solutions including VMware to its customers. By virtualizing their infrastructure, companies can realize cost savings and productivity benefits – such as reduced power consumption, storage efficiencies and a more intelligent application of network resources. In designing data center solutions for customers, Carousel’s holistic approach takes into account designs for efficient power and cooling, optimized networks, best-of-class security, layers of storage, and virtualization technology on top of the entire stack.
